*Sets For 2nd First Lady 6-a-side Football Tourney
As part of the renewed commitment of the Female Football Committee of the Kwara State Football Association to reinvigorate female in 2024, the Committee is set to organize 2nd edition of First Lady 6-a-side football competition among selected secondary schools in the state.
In a statement by the Chairperson, Kwara FA Female Football Committee, Hajia Segilola Alaya revealed that this year is loaded with programmes and activities geared towards moving female football to the next level of development in the state.
“We are hitting the ground running this year with the staging of second First Lady 6-a-side football competition among some selected secondary schools.
“The championship will hold from 4th to 10th February 2024, and in June this year, we are coming up with Senator’s Female Football Competition.
Hajia Alaya, who expressed reservation over the inability of the state to have Women’s team in the ongoing NWFL season, said that the anticipated competitions will provide template for the discovery of new talents and players that will form the state team next season.
Registration for the competition, which is in honour of the First Lady of the State, Ambassador Professor (Dr) Olufolake AbdulRazaq will commence soon, as teams will be selected across the three Senatorial Districts.
