Kwara FA sets good precedence with adherence to NFF Electoral Guidelines -Thuraya

*Urges spectators to adhere strictly to the NPFL protocols ahead of Kwara United and Abia Warriors tie on Sunday

Chairman of Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa says the state has set a good precedence in the adherence to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Electoral Guidelines in electing its officials as football administrators in the state.

Abdullahi, popularly known as Thuraya, stated this during the second edition of Kwara SWAN Sports HardTalk at the Football House, in Ilorin on Friday October 6th,  2023.

He noted that football administration from the grassroots in the state is fully democratised with the election of officials for the first time in history to run football activities in the local council.

The FA Supremo explained that FIFA will continue to prioritise football development from the grassroots, hence the need to take the advantage of FIFA’s new program and policy which aimed at upgrading and improving on football facilities.

He said, “It is on record that the state has set a good precedence in the adherence to the NFF electoral guidelines in electing its officials as football administrators in the state. The NFF has commended the state FA for ensuring the 16 Local Football Councils get representatives.

“If you look at the last composition of the NFF committees, you will discover that Kwara State has representatives from the three senatorial districts which is a plus to us”.

Speaking on the Kwara State Stadium’s readiness for NPFL matches, he urged spectators coming for matches to adhere strictly to the NPFL protocols, noting that security and stewardship will be fully on ground to control the crowd, and nobody will be allowed in the technical area except officials.

He said, “The FA is strictly in charge of the matches before, during and after. Every guideline and protocol spelt out will be followed to the latter. I want to urge fans and spectators to be well behaved and shun any act of hooliganism as football returns to the state”.

While commending Barrister A. U. Mustapha SAN for bringing life into the state’s stadium through re-grassing of the pitch, he said nobody will be permitted to enter through the tunnel except designated gate for entering and exiting.

Kwara United will take on Abia Warriors on Sunday October 8th, 2023, by 4pm at the Kwara State stadium.
