Kwara squash players charged ahead 3rd National Championship

Kwara squash players for the 3rd National Squash Championship in Abeokuta, Ogun state have been charged to be good ambassadors of the state, before, during and after the contests.

The competition has been scheduled to hold between Wednesday September 1st to Monday September 6th, at Obasanjo International Library Complex, Abeokuta.

While addressing the players today at the premises of the Kwara State Sports Commission, the Executive Chairman, Mallam Bola Mogaji also charged them to sustain the good performance that is synonymous with the state in the racket game.

“You are the ambassadors of the state, and you must remain so, by been disciplined throughout the duration of the competition and beyond”, he said.

“You have done it before, and I have the confidence that you can do it again. I wish you the best in the competition”, he added.

Also speaking to the team, the Director General, Dr. Steve Olarinoye urged the young players to use the competition as a veritable learning curve, especially ahead of the National Youth Games coming up later in the year.

Kwara will present 11 players in the Male Singles, Female Singles as well as the U-16 Boys and Girls categories.

Rofiat Abdulazeez and Gabriel Oluwafunmilayo will compete in the female and male events respectively, while the quartet of Misitura Durosinlohun, Khadijat Abdulraheem, Aishat Abdulraheem and Goodness Nanna will compete in the U-16 Girls category.

Taiye Ibrahim will lead three others in the Boys U-16 category, alongside Shuaib Giwa, Muhibudeen Olaide and Ibrahim Abdulazeez .

The team will be led by Coaches Isiaka Mogaji and Bilikis Bogaji.
