All technicalities on the road towards having a well laid grass at the pitch of the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex will be adopted and thoroughly observed, says the Chairman of the State FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa.
Speaking with newsmen while monitoring the level of work done so far, today Tuesday November 22, 2022, Mallam Abdullahi Musa said that the monitoring became imperative considering the role of the FA in the control of the development of the round leather game in the state.
The Chairman, who inspected the progress report in company of the contractors handling the project said that the pitch will be ready in the next four weeks.
Mallam Abdullahi Musa, popularly known as Thuraya said that everything is being done to ensure that the grass planted passes test of time, and that its the right grass, considering the environmental factors and changes in weather.
“We are in charge of ensuring that everything is put in the right place as far as football development is concerned in the state, and the pitch is crucial towards achieving that mandate.
“I will want to commend the State Governor, Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the understanding, and the personality that is bankrolling the regrassing of the pitch, Barrister A. U Mustapha for their commitments.
The artificial grass of the Stadium constructed and commissioned in 1977 was laid in 2011, and was removed immediately after the close of the 2021/2022 NPFL season, owing to popular demands.
Following the development, all the home games involving Kwara United FC in the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup were played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Kwara United FC playing its home.matches of the 2022/2023 NPFL season at home will depend largely on the effectiveness and how quick the grass of the pitch grows between now and the next four weeks, even though no date has been fixed for the system to commence.
