Kwara SWAN mourns demise of Grant Patron, Elerin

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State chapter has condoled with the entire people of Erin-Ile over the demise of its Grant Patron, the Elerin of Erin-Ile Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusokun II, MFR who died today, Saturday at the age of 81.

In a condolence message jointly signed by the Chairman and Assistant Secretary of the Association, Mallam Ismail Ayodeji and Sodiq Adebara, respectively, they stated that it is no doubt that the Erin-Ile community, Oyun Local Government, Kwara State, and the country in general, will be missing the Monarch, who has contributed meaningfully to the humanity when he was alive.

The statement added that the Association will also be missing the late Royal father for his immense contributions to the development of the sport in the state and Nigeria entirely.

“The death of our Royal father is a great loss to the SWAN because of his various contributions in uplifting the association in her drive to sports development in the state”, the statement said.

The statement also commiserates with Kwara State Governor,  Mallam AbdulRaman AbdulRazak stating that the death of the Royal father will create a vacuum in the State, especially among the Royal fathers in the state,  therefore prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat-ul- Firdouz and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
