Kwara United FC, Snipers Academy plans partnership

Akure, Ondo state based Football Academy, Snipers MMC Sports Academy has opened preliminary talks towards partnering Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin on football and players development and exchange.

Representative of the Academy, Mrs Monica Ojinnaka met with the team today in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, ahead of Kwara United’s Matchday 24 encounter with Akwa United, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

While receiving Mrs Ojinnaka, the General Manager, Bashir Badawiy expressed Kwara United’s willingness to partner the Academy, adding that the team, under the Chairmanship of Kumbi Titiloye adopts and encourages the youth, as the game is all about the young ones.

He said that Kwara United has a youthful team, and it has players in the U-17 and U-20 National teams, and also has players at the Kwara state owned Football Academy, KFA.

Badawiy said that the partnership, which will be defined and designed by the two outfits will also include sponsorship, as Kwara United is working towards creating additional financial windows for the club.

Mrs Ojinnaka, who said that they were encouraged by Kwara United’s exploits in the ongoing 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), said that her Academy started in Akure last year, and plans are on to extend it to others states in Nigeria.

She said that the Academy presently has over 100 players in the junior, intermediate and senior categories, between ages six and 21.

The US citizen praised the management of Kwara United for accepting the partnership offer, even as she commended the team’s technical crew, led by Coach Abdullahi Biffo for doing a good job.
