Kwara United goes on break, as players get support from former Coach, Biffo

Players of Kwara United Football Club have been given one week break ahead of the commencement of the General Elections on Saturday, and are expected to resume fully on Thursday March 2nd, 2023, to commence preparation for the second round of the league.

The General Manager of the club, Bashir Badawiy, who commended the players for the hard earned victory over El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri yesterday said that the break will afford the players perform their civic rights, and also keep them refreshed ahead of the second round hostilities.

In the match against El-Kanemi in Maiduguri, which was the club’s last match of the first round, David Nnaji put the host ahead in the 20th minute, but goals from Jide Fatokun and Kwara Football Academy graduate, Godwin Oshagbemi ensured maximum points for the Harmony Boys.

“The boys deserve commendation for coming from a goal down and winning the match and the win was very important to our quest of achieving the set objectives this season.

“The one week break will keep them refreshed ahead of the preparations for the second round, which will obviously be tougher and demanding.

“I will want to thank the players and the technical crew for their resilience, while also urging them to brace up for the challenges ahead.

Meanwhile, former Kwara United Technical Adviser, Coach Abdullahi Usman Biffo has bioosted the players of the club with N200, 000 for beating El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in the Matchday Nine of the Nigeria Premier Football League in Maiduguri.

He commended the players for rising up to the occasion, especially when it mattered most.
