Kwara United line up friendlies, as preparation for second round hots up

Kwara United football club has lined up series of friendly matches, as preparations for the resumption of the second round of the ongoing 2020/2023 Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) hots up.

Speaking to the Media Team of the club after yesterday’s training at the Kwara Football Academy, Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo said that the friendly matches would expose some of the loopholes in the team, and equally afford the technical crew the opportunity of mending them ahead of the second round hostilities.

He also added that the exercise will allow the newly signed players to gel with the team. The team is in the process of completing the signing of five players, after the departure of five players.

The team will square up against Gaa Akanbi Football Club tomorrow Thursday, beginning from 2.00pm, at the Kwara Football Academy, and also play against Offa FC on Friday, beginning from 3.00pm, at the same venue.

Coach Dogo, who said that the mentality of the team is changing gradually, added that more emphasis would be paid to discipline and dedication of the players, pointing out that all the players must justify their inclusion in the team.

The team will also be expected to play more friendly matches ahead of its first match in the State Federation Cup competition which began yesterday in Ilorin.

The club’s first match in the second round of the league will be against El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in Akure.
