Kwara United Football Club winger, Bernard Ovoke today, Thursday, September 21st, 2023, donated writing materials to a Nursery and Primary School he adopted in Ilorin metropolis, Pristine Academy.

The gesture, according to the former Plateau United player, was to support the pupils in their education and equally to motivate some of them to consider football as their career in the future.

The winger, nicknamed ‘Magic 7’, owing to the adoption of Number 7 Shirt ahead of the forthcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, signed a one year deal with Kwara United Football Club last month.

The widely travelled and experienced attacker also expressed desire to shake the foundations of the league with his outstanding performances for the Harmony Warriors in the coming season, even as he promised to help his new team achieve its targets in the 2023/2024 NPFL.

While donating the branded exercise books to the pupils, Ovoke said that it’s a way of currying support for himself and the team in the coming season, and also, to motivate the young ones to take to the game of football from that level.

“Apart from using the gesture to boost the educational advancement of the pupils and the school, its also a way of improving support base for Kwara United, and a motivation for some of the pupils who would later embrace the game of football in future.

“I joined Kwara United to make tremendous impact, and that would have to be a geature that encompasses what happens on and off the pitch. The donation of branded writing materials to the school I adopted was part of that vision.

“I consciously found out some of the needs of the schools, especially as it concerns the pupils. That’s was the realisation that led to the production of the branded exercise books, knowing fully well that it would go a long way in adding value to the advancement of teaching and learning in the school.

“That gesture may be extended to other schools in future, especially taking into consideration all other human development factors and indices.

“I will therefore, want to commend the management of Kwara United Football Club, especially the Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, and the Technical Adviser, Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo for the opportunity given me to be here, hoping and praying to advance the cause of the club, Kwara United Football Club.
