The Matchday 31 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter between Kwara United and Akwa United earlier fixed for 2.00pm on Saturday April 20, 2024 has been re-arranged to hold on Sunday April 21, 2024, by 4.00pm.
The re-arrangement, as requested by Kwara United, was to give room for a state function, as scheduled by the State government, at the Main-Bowl of the Stadium Complex, venue of the match.
The request for re-arrangement was approved by the NPFL, and all logistical arrangements concluded to have the match to hold at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex on Sunday, from 4.00pm.
According to the club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, “the state government, through the Kwara State Sports Commission has said that the venue will not be available for our match against Akwa United FC, which was fixed to hold Saturday April 20, by 2.00pm.
“It was on that basis that we wrote the NPFL requesting for re-arrangement, which they have approved.
Titiloye therefore, enjoin the Fans, Supporters and stakeholders to troop out en masse on Sunday, to support the club against visiting Akwa United, pointing out that it’s their support that has been sustaining the team.
Kwara United is currently 14th on the NPFL log with 36 points and minus four goals deficit. The club has an outstanding game against Rivers United FC at home in Ilorin.
