The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has scheduled the all-important Matchday 17 encounter between Kwara United Football Club and Nasarawa United at the Akure Township Stadium for live coverage.
Kwara United, with 14 points and placed 8th on the Group A table, and Nasarawa United with 13 points and in 9th position are in the relegation dog fight, with the match crucial to their quest for survival.
In a letter dated May 2nd, 2023, and signed by the Head of Competition Department of the NPFL, Dr. Sunday Johnson Obaseki, the body stated that the match will be beamed live.
“Please be informed that the Matchday 17 fixture (Kwara United versus Nasaraw United) will be beamed live on Sunday May 7th, 2023, at Akure Township Stadium, Akure, Ondo state”, the letter read in part.
“We kindly request you to accord the Technical Crew the necessary assistance while ensuring that required logistics are put in place for a hitchfree game.
The NPFL, in a letter signed by the Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi, had earlier rescheduled all Matchday 17 fixtures for Sunday 7th May, 2023.
According to the letter, “All Matchday 17 games has been collectively rescheduled for Sunday May 7th, 2023, in order to accommodate the League Marketing and Broadcasting plans, and also to ensure sporting fairness and integrity of the league.
All matches will kick-off by 4.00pm.
