Engr. Olaide charges Kwara United players ahead decisive match

One of the strong supporters of Kwara United Football Club, Engr. Olaide Ahmed has charged the players to approach the Matchday 17 encounter against Nasarawa United on Sunday with utmost seriousness and great determination.

Describing the match as ‘the most crucial 90 minutes of Kwara United’s survival’, he said that the players hold the key to the team’s chances of retaining their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) slot this season.

Kwara United is currently placed 8th on the Group A table of the ongoing 2022/2023 Abridged League with 14 points, ahead of Nasarawa United which has 13 point and in the 9th position, and a win for Kwara United takes them completely out of the red zone, irrespective of the result of the last match against Remo Stars.

Engr Olaide, who said that the players have the full backing of the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the entire football fraternity in the state as they go into the game, said that they should always remember that every minute in the game counts, as they shoulder the aspiration of Kwarans.

Engr. Olaide it would be recalled has continued to roll out various motivational incentives that propels the team, especially, the introduction of the Player of the Month Award.

In a chat with the Media Team of Kwara United, the Engineer said that the move was to re-energise the players, and to complement the efforts of the government and the Board, at ensuring that the team ends the season well.

Among the criteria considered in picking the Player of the Month are: the player’s work rate and contributions to the team, discipline, which captures the player’s behaviour on and off the pitch, in the period under review.

While calling on Kwarans to rally round the team, especially at this trying period, Engr. Olaide commended the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for sustaining support for the team.

He equally commended the Kwara State Sports Commission, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Mallam Bola Mogaji, the Board, and the stakeholders, for supporting the team.

He also commended the players for the sacrifice and enduring playing without their traditional fans and supporters, owing to the ongoing re-grassing of the pitch of the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex.
