Ojibara tasks new Football Council Chairmen, members on effectiveness

    The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Salihu Ojibara has tasked the newly sworn-in Chairmen of Local Government Football Councils in the state to develop and growth football from the grassroots to guarantee effective nurturing of talents.

    Mallam Salihu Ojibara gave the charge today, Tuesday March 21, 2023 after the Kwara Football Council elections held at the FA Secretariat, Stadium Complex, Ilorin.

    Mallam Ojibara, who expressed satisfaction with the contestants for adhering to the rules and guidelines of electoral process, said this is the first time in the history of the football administration in the state to put in place a democratically elected officers in the Local Government Areas.

    According to Ojibara, the Electoral Committee is proud to be part of the exercise which ushered in new administrators in the Councils, and believes their tenure will change the narrative in football administration from the grassroots

    He commended the FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa for allowing the Committee to execute their electoral process without interference, noting that the State FA has set a template for others to emulate.

    Earlier, the Chairman of Kwara Football Association, Mallam Abdullahi Idris Musa applauded the Electoral Committee for discharging their statutory duties without fair or favour, stressing that the process was fully executed in accordance with NFF directive.

    Mallam Idris, popularly known as Thuraya, called on aggrieved stakeholders to channel their grievances and complaints to the concerned authorities, stressing that the exercise stands the test of time.

    While reacting on behalf of other members, after collecting their certificates, Patigi FA Council Chairman, Idris Jibril Etsu, his Ilorin South counterpart, Alhaji Umar Bolaji Yahaya and the Vice Chairman of Ekiti Football Council, Afolayan Bolanle Racheal pledged to justify their elections by developing football at the grassroots.

    They pledged to work with stakeholders in their respective Local Government Areas to give the youth the opportunity to flower and flourish in the round leather game.
