The Chairman of Akwa United, Elder Paul Etubom Bassey has heaped praises on Governor Udom Emmanuel for his support over the team and drive for Sports development.
Bassey in a chat with Newsmen, noted that Governor Emmanuel has created an enabling environment for sports to thrive in the state, hence the need to justify his investment by remarkable achievements.
The retired FIFA and CAF Instructor in the chat expressed optimism that the NPFL reigning champions will finish the season on a high note despite the remaining fixtures.
“We are going to take the remaining matches with high sense of positivity and ensure that we secure the points that will see us flying the flag of this country at the continental level again” the seasoned Administrator quipped.
“I want to sincerely thank our amiable Governor for his support over the team. We can’t think of any other support than what he has done and still doing”.
While charging the players and the technical crew to remain focused and resolute in the pursuit for the continental slot, he also called on the fans and supporters of the club to continue to root for the team in its bid to make more exploits.
