The commencement date for the forthcoming 2023-2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has reportedly been shifted by two weeks.
The season was earlier scheduled to kick-off on August 26th, 2023, but has now been shifted to kick-off on September 8-10th.
According to the Organizers, reasons for the two weeks postponement was that the NPFL Live App needs time to be ready for next month. The test-run of camera and trainings are ongoing at various stadia.
With clubs representing the country in the Continental competitions expected to be in action, the clubs will have the opportunity to start the season with the other 16 clubs, after the preliminary rounds.
The draw ceremony for the new season has therefore, been scheduled to hold in Lagos this Thursday, August 17, 2013.
The NPFL Live App is expected to broadcast over 300 games this season, according to the NPFL Board and their partners.
