The maiden edition of Dr. Chudy Ogbolu U – 12 Kids Cup (CKC) will kick off at Ilorin, the Kwara state capital by the second week of December.
The tournament, which is geared towards discovery and nurturing young talents at the grassroots is been sponsored by Dr. Chudy Ogbolu, a medical practitioner, philanthropist and a lover of Kiddies football.
Eight grassroots Kiddies’ Academies have been invited for the competition, and the Most Valuable Player is expected to be awarded one year academic scholarship.
The organizer of tournament, Coach Soni Ahamioje, said it is a unique avenue to hunt and nurture young talents from the age of 8 to 12 years.
It is a novel tournament as the registration for the tournament is free and all participating teams will get appearance fee.
According to him, it is going to be total football couple with entertainment, skills, colour and glamour.
At the end of the competition, the best players will be sponsored to partake in the State FA screening for Zenith National U-13 boys competitions.
He also promised to organize a hitch-free tournament that will be worthy of emulation.
While thanking the sponsor of the competition, Mr. Ahamioje called on the well to do in the society to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Dr. Chudy Ogbolu, and assist our children and youths in both sporting and academic programs.
