KFA Embark On Playing Tour of Lagos, Ibadan

The Kwara Football Academy (KFA) U-13 team will embark on a 4-day playing Tour of Lagos and Ibadan South-West Nigeria, from Wednesday 21st February through Saturday 24th February, 2024.

While on the tour, the team will play 3 mini-tournament and a friendly match in Lagos and Ibadan respectively.

The 25-boy contingent will be hosted by the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) during the playing Tour of Lagos, as they lock horns with Team Lagos U-13 team, Ikorodu City FC Academy and F8 Ballers Africa Academy, all at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.

The boys will proceed to Ibadan to face Liberty United Football Academy at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday to wrap up the South-West Tour.

The Administrator of the Academy, Mallam Ibrahim Bako explained that the rationale behind the tour is a deliberate measure to develop the kid-footballers.

He stated that “We aim to expose our players to different playing environments against some of the best football academies in the country, as we believe that will go a long way in building an all-round leader both on and off the pitch.

“It has become a tradition in our Academy to take our players on playing tours, last year it was the turn of the U-15 and U-17 teams that travelled to Abuja on playing tours. We are doing same for the U-13 team this time around” .

He stated further that the academics of the players is also a priority, noting that football and academics are taught in tandem

“We are aware that the players are still in secondary school, this is the reason why we have decided to embark on the tour during the mid-term holiday so as to maximise the period without the trip having effect on their studies in school”.

The KFA U-13 boys are the reigning Champions of the Kwara Kiddies League and they have won the league back to back since inception.
