The Chairman and Board of the Kwara State Football Association have officially lifted the suspension earlier imposed on football stakeholder, Bashir Alabi Hammed, popularly known as Arabambi, following the review of reports submitted by a Special Committee set up to investigate his case.

In an official letter signed by the Association’s Secretary, Kashim M. Agaka, the FA confirmed that the suspension placed on Bashir on April 16, 2026, has now been withdrawn after due consideration of the committee’s findings and recommendations.

The letter stated that the decision was taken after the Board carefully examined the reports presented by the committee handling the matter, while also issuing a strong warning to the football enthusiast to avoid acts capable of bringing the game into disrepute in the future.

The development marks the end of a disciplinary episode that drew reactions within the football community in Kwara State after Bashir was suspended from all football-related activities last month over actions considered contrary to the ethics and regulations guiding football administration in the state.

During the period of his suspension, Bashir Alabi Hammed publicly appealed for forgiveness, expressing remorse over the incident and pledging to conduct himself responsibly moving forward.

His apology and subsequent cooperation with the investigative process were believed to have played a key role in the FA’s decision to temper justice with mercy.

The Kwara FA, while reinstating him, stressed that the lifting of the suspension should serve as an opportunity for reconciliation and a renewed commitment to protecting the integrity, unity and development of football in the state.

The Association, however, maintained that any future recurrence of similar misconduct would attract stiffer disciplinary sanctions.
