Kwara United Football Club players have been charged to be more serious and disciplined, especially in the aftermath of the club’s ouster in the 2nd ValueJet Pre-Season tournament at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Kwara United lost 4-3 on penalties to Beyond Limits Football Academy after playing out a two-all draw at regulation time, in the semi-finals of the competition.
While addressing the players ahead of their training this morning, August 9th, 2023, in Ikenne, the Team Manager, Mallam Oke Mohammed Jimoh commended the players for the grounds covered so far in the preparations for the 2023-2024 NPFL season.
“I am pleased with your attitudes and behaviour. However, discipline is paramount and key.
“With what we have noticed so far, I am sorry to say that some of you might be dropped due to none or low performance. Some might also be dropped on account of indiscipline.
“Discipline comes in two ways. Attitudinal behaviour and technical discipline. We lost the match against Beyond Limits Football Academy yesterday because we were not technically disciplined.
“The moment you have accepted to go into the field of play, you must both be serious and technically disciplined. There must be firm commitment.
“The season begins on August 26th, 2023. We have not started the journey yet. And as you know, we are playing as much as 38 matches in the league alone, alongside other competitions.
He advised them to adhere strictly with the rules and regulations of the club.
Kwara United is scheduled to return to Ilorin, to start preparations for an invitational friendly match in Benin Republic next week, before the commencement of the season.
