Head Coach of Kwara Falcons basketball team, Jibril Baba has termed the upcoming Super Eight play-off in Lagos a difficult adventure, but added that they will be up to the great challenge.

Speaking with sportsbash.com.ng on Wednesday in Ilorin, after their return from Akure, the handler said that the team will commence training immediately for the Lagos championship scheduled for September 26th to October 2nd.

“The Super Eight will be a bit difficult, but we will be ready for it. We will observe a break of maybe two days, and return back to the court to commence preparation. Our players who are also on injury list would have been back”, he said.

While analyzing their campaign in the Akure play-off, Coach Jibril said that coming second behind highly experienced Rivers Hoopers wasn’t a bad result, but they had aimed to win the Conference, adding that they team will improve ahead of the Lagos championship.

“We have young players, who have lots of room to improve. I am satisfied with what they played in Akure. Nobody gave us the chance when preparing for the competition, but now, we have proven what we can really do. The future is bright”, he added.

Coach Jibril, who observed that the standard of the Premier League basketball in Nigeria has dropped because of long time of no action, expressed optimism of a good outing in Lagos.

“The aim was to do well in Lagos, and pick a continental ticket. We thank the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Kwara State Sports Commission for the support.
