KFA set to defend Ramat Cup title

The 2020 Ramat Cup Champions,  Kwara Football Academy U-16 Boys are set to defend the title they won 13 months ago, in the ancient city of Kano, beginning from this weekend.

The organisers of the annual tournament, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in a press release yesterday stated that the tournament will commence from this weekend in kano.

“Arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of the 2021 edition of Ramat Cup U-16 Boys Soccer Championship. The Championship is scheduled for 19 -27 March 2021 in Kano, Kano State. 

Teams from the 36 states of the Federation and the FCT are expected to participate in the week-long Championship. 

Ramat Cup was initiated by YSFON in 1977, in honour of late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed, who was assassinated on the 13th February 1976.”

The Kwara Football Academy defeated Bauchi state representative in the final of the 37th edition of the tournament at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata, to lift the trophy for Kwara state after a 20-year drought.
